4.7 Pathological changes in the physiologic blind spot 4.7.1 Changes in the size of the blind spot

• Magnification:

- Papilledema

- Macropapilla, optic disc drusen

- Coloboma of the optic disc, also known as morning glory syndrome

- Peripapillary choroidal atrophy or scarring

• Minification:

- Micropapilla

Additional testing, when indicated:

• Fundoscopy

• Depending on the fundus appearance:

- Check refraction

- Measure blood pressure (rule out malignant hypertension with grade IV disc edema)

- Neurological consultation, lumbar puncture: CSF pressure, CSF lab testing

- Lab testing
