Substrates of UDPglucuronyltransferases

Phenols are important substrates of UDP-glucuronyltransferases, be they drugs, drug metabolites, natural products, industrial chemicals, or metabolites thereof. An example of an extensively glucuronidated drug is paracetamol (30 in Figure 13; see Section; the major catalysts of the reaction are UGT1A6 and mainly 1A7.79 Interesting QSARs have been published for the glucuronidation of a variety of natural, medicinal, and model phenols catalyzed by UGT1A1, 1A6, 1A9, 2B7, and 2B15.46
