Island View

At Island View adolescent residential treatment center, we are in the business of shaping young lives. We ask adolescents to build upon their strengths and abandon self-defeating behaviors. In this process, we give a lot of ourselves and expect the very best effort from our residents. We are not merely satisfied with a child that knows how to “jump through” hoops. Remember, WE DEMAND GREATNESS NOT COMPLIANCE.

Much like the human body requires a balanced diet that draws from the basic food groups, so does a troubled adolescent require a carefully selected assortment of services and interventions in order to make desired changes.

In the past, less restrictive approaches may have rendered few or no results for adolescents requiring residentially based care. Often, this is due to the inability to utilize all the necessary treatment elements and apply them in a choreographed manner.

At Island View, we make it our business to use all the critical ingredients, not just a few, to combine the best recipe for success:

  • A therapeutic, positive peer environment
  • Individual, group and family therapy
  • Education
  • Activity and Recreation Services
  • Other support services

College Preparatory Academics

Operating on a year-round basis, Island View provides a full six-period school day, five days per week. Students are required to complete daily homework assignments and benefit from individualized attention when required. Through ongoing academic assessment and pre-and post-achievement testing, teachers aid each resident in developing effective learning strategies. Indeed, academic gain and productive classroom learning are often the first indications of a return to healthy behaviors and self-esteem.

Aspen Education Group’s residential programs participated in a longitudinal outcome study to find out if parents and students continue to report positive changes one year after leaving the program. Watch the video to learn more.
