Four Circles Recovery Center
Four Circles Recovery Center is an innovative addictions and substance abuse treatment program for young adults ages 18-28 that combines a traditional counseling setting with extensive wilderness experiences. Four Circles employs the most effective, cutting-edge clinical modalities with an underlying traditional 12-step philosophy to create the foundation for sustained recovery.
When you first arrive at Four Circles you will participate in the orientation component of the program so we can begin to stabilize, assess, and provide essential structure for the start of your journey to sustained recovery. Once the foundation is built, you will transition into a series of wilderness expeditions. Hiking through the majestic Blue Ridge Mountains, building the camp fire, sitting in a place where the sky is your ceiling and the four walls are North, South, East, and West - here you’ll begin the internal journey to your authentic self and discover powerful tools and strategies for long-term success.
At the end of the expedition phase, you will transition back to the treatment center to focus on detailed and extensive aftercare planning. At this point, you will develop a relapse prevention plan and create a support system that will help you sustain the progress you have made.
We use a variety of clinical approaches because this allows us to meet your needs based on where you are emotionally, mentally, physically, and spiritually and help you build a strong foundation for recovery. Our approach includes individualized treatment planning, individual and group therapy, AA/NA meetings, art therapy, martial arts practice, life skills training, psycho-educational skills training, family therapy, 12 step meetings, meditation, cognitive-behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, experiential education, motivational enhancement therapy, career/vocational/psychological testing, gender specific treatment, and solution focused therapy
How can being in the wilderness assist with recovery from substance abuse/chemical dependency? There are many gifts that come from the adventure of being in a wilderness program, not the least of which is that it IS an adventure. The more traditional recovery treatment programs allow you to have an adventure on an internal level, exploring parts of yourself you may not have been in touch with before. The wilderness program allows you to go on a transformational journey of self-discovery, a pilgrimage that is both internal and external. As you explore the wild and fascinating natural world in which you find yourself, you also explore the wild and fascinating world that lies within you. There is a kind of parallel process of discovery, each supporting and amplifying the other.
By blending the best of wilderness education and traditional therapeutic treatment, Four Circles allows you to develop the strong foundation needed for sustained recovery.
