“…one of the nation’s most reputable programs.” U.S. News and World Report
As one of the longest-running wilderness therapy programs in the country, Aspen Achievement Academy has exceptional success working with struggling youth. We are a licensed treatment program that integrates an accredited academic component, a sophisticated therapeutic model, and an experiential education curriculum in a healing wilderness environment.
Aspen Academy is one of the few wilderness programs to have participated in a landmark longitudinal study of wilderness therapy that showed a dramatic improvement in teen behavior after participation in this type of program. Parents reported that the students were still doing well a year after finishing wilderness therapy.
Aspen Academy’s clinical focus is on insight-oriented therapy, rather than behavior modification. The model helps our students gain awareness of their emotional and behavior habits. Our unique, nurturing approach allows our students to address individual issues, become engaged in their personal success, and begin the process of bringing families back together.
We are accredited by JCAHO, the highest level of professional accreditation from the most respected oversight organization for providers of healthcare. Because of this level of accreditation, Aspen Academy is recognized by insurance and employee assistance programs.
With Ph.D and Master’s level clinicians, you get a hospital level of treatment in am awe-inspiring wilderness setting.
