| An Academic Setting for Recovery |
The goal of SunHawk Academy is to provide teenagers and their families with consistent, quality therapy and education that will supply new options and goals to help change their lives and relationships. This goal is met by teaching honesty, respect, teamwork and accountability. Rules such as no smoking, no drinking, no tobacco, and no drugs are enforced. The goal continues in an academic setting with structured living.
SunHawk Academy has a very comprehensive adolescent treatment program, which begins by modifying negative behavior, then progresses with academics to complete the needed changes in young people's lives. A key ingredient is the amount of time and effort the therapists spend working directly with students and the interaction that they have with parents during and after the program. Every bad attitude and manipulative behavior is dealt with directly and immediately. Through this consistent correction and positive guidance, day after day, in a structured, hard-working environment, positive changes begin to emerge.

Our dedication to helping youth was instilled by SunHawk Academy’s founders – parents of teens, who saw the need for a new type of program. Their concept combined the benefits of strong academics with the longer-term care and therapy available through a residential treatment center. They believed in a comprehensive program, which not only treated the student, but also offered family involvement and parental support.
