One of the more insidious aspects of ADD/ADHD is the way in which the disorder can undermine a student’s self-esteem and self-worth. For many young girls, external challenges such as academic struggles or social setbacks can become internalized as “evidence” that the girls themselves are somehow less worthy of joy, love and happiness.

Nothing, of course, could be further from the truth. And at Copper Canyon Academy, we make a concerted effort to ensure that our students develop an appreciation for their innate strengths, unique talents and personal capabilities.

"I have discovered happiness within myself."

From equine therapy to self-esteem groups, Copper Canyon Academy employs a number of innovative and effective techniques to help students overcome low self-worth and become much more self-assured.

As one student remarked to one of our residential coaches after completing a self-esteem group, “I have discovered happiness within myself instead of looking outwards for others to make me happy.”
